What is a blog?

The word blog is believed to originate from the word weblog. Weblog can be though of as a conjunction of web and log or a conjunction of we and blog. A blog is many things to many different people. It can be thought of as an online journal, a diary, a medium for peer-to-peer journalism, or a personal web site. Blog content often includes personal rants, or links to interesting web sites with commentary by the blog author. Oftentimes readers of a blog can post their comments on blog entries. A blog is probably the easiest way to create a presence on the web. But don't let any of this limit what you turn your blog into, be creative.

Why are you doing this?

We think blogs are great. In fact, we think blogs might even be the biggest thing to come out of this whole Internet thing we've all been so hyped about for the last decade. It's the first medium in the history of mankind through which ordinary people can publish content to a global audience, with nothing more than an internet connection. Armed with just your ideas and a computer with internet access, you can virtually become another New York Times or CNN. We think that's great.

Our goal is simple: to make it as easy as possible for people to publish the content they want, the way they want it, whenever they want to.

Is it free?

It is now, there will likely always be a free option. However Terms of Service and available features are subject to change.
